Our Founder – Keith McDonnell
EI Travel Group was founded in 2011 by our CEO and Managing Director, Keith McDonnell. With a clear vision, strong determination, and a passion for creating memorable travel experiences, Keith built what started as a one-man operation running day trips to the Cliffs of Moher into a dynamic and growing tourism group.
At the heart of EI Travel Group is our bespoke travel service, designing tailor-made itineraries and delivering a complete end-to-end experience. From expert guides and transport to accommodation booking and seamless trip planning, we take care of every detail so our clients can simply enjoy Ireland at its best.
As the business grew, Keith continued to innovate and expand into new products and experiences. This included the launch of Irish Day Tours, offering daily public tours departing and returning to Dublin, visiting some of Ireland’s most iconic destinations. In 2015, the group expanded further with the launch of the Irish Whiskey Museum, adding a standout visitor attraction in the heart of the capital directly across from Trinity College.
Today, EI Travel Group also owns and operates City Sightseeing Dublin, holding the City Sightseeing franchise in Dublin, alongside a range of unique experiences including the Gravedigger Ghost Bus Tour, Sightseeing Bike Tours, and World of Illusion an immersive illusion attraction in Dublin city centre.
Keith’s entrepreneurial drive remains central to our culture, continuously exploring new ways to innovate, grow, and bring Ireland to the forefront of world-class tourism.
